100
the answer for puzzle #24

The five clues

  1. A round three-digit number.
  2. Common maximum for scores and percentages.
  3. The smallest three-digit natural number, and a square.
  4. Equal to 2+3+5+7+11+13+17+19+23, the sum of the first nine primes.
  5. Also the number of years in a century.

Backstory

100 = 10² = 2² · 5², and also 1³ + 2³ + 3³ + 4³ = 100 (a slice of Nicomachus's identity). Neither prime nor a factorial, but ubiquitous in metrology as a percentage base and as Roman C. τ(100) = 9 divisors.
