1000000
the answer for puzzle #44

The five clues

  1. A seven-digit round number ending in six zeros.
  2. A round base-10 threshold expressed as ten to a small power.
  3. Ten to the sixth.
  4. A million: the third power of one hundred, and the smallest number with seven decimal digits.
  5. One million — the classic 'game-show grand prize' quantity in popular culture.

Backstory

1,000,000 = 10⁶. Ancient Egyptian had a hieroglyph for it: a kneeling god with arms raised in astonishment. It's also the smallest number to require seven decimal digits, and the first million digits of π contain every digit roughly 100,000 times.
