- The smallest four-digit factorial.
- It equals 7! and is a superior highly composite number.
- Plato's ideal city size in Laws (per book V).

Backstory
Plato praised 5040 in the Laws for its 59 proper divisors, ideal for organizing a city into equal parts. 5040 = 7!, is the 19th highly composite number, and equals 6·7·10·12 in many ways — a favorite of Ramanujan's 1915 paper.
